Publications

In 2003, Lelung Rinpoche set up an office in Dharamsala to compile and publish texts of the collected works of the Fifth Lelung Rinpoche, which were scattered all over the world when Lelung monastery was destroyed in the mid-1950s. Forty volumes of these works have been collected and are currently being transcribed with a view to publication in both Tibetan and English.

The first volume, entitled A Drop from the Ocean of History: The Lineage of Lelung Pema Zhepai Dorje, One of the Three Principal Incarnations of Tibet was published in Tibetan in 2002 by Archana, New Delhi. The foreword was written by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It is currently being translated into English by Lotsawa Tenzin Dorje. A second volume is due to be published very shortly.

Foreword to A Drop from the Ocean of History

My appreciation to Tenzin Phuntsok Loden, the 11th Lelung reincarnation, for compiling a biography of the line of previous Lelung incarnations. These incarnations have peformed numerous altruistic deeds for the benefit of Dharma and happiness of sentient beings. The essense of compiling their biography is to follow their footsteps and it is worthwhile to make efforts in that regard.

Dalai Lama, Shakya’s Bhikshu Tenzin Gyatso [penned this] on the 27th day of the 11th [lunar month] of the 17th Rabjung Cycle of the Iron Dragon; April 1, 2000.

Earlier, Lelung Rinpoche published another of the Fifth Lelung Rinpoche's written works entitled About Madhyamika Madhyapramana. This text is currently only available in Tibetan. If you are interested in obtaining a copy, please contact us. The publication details are as follows:
