One of the most important projects currently underway is the compilation of of the collected works of the Fifth Lelung Rinpoche, which were scattered all over the world when Lelung monastery was destroyed in the mid-1950s. Forty volumes of these works have been collected and are currently being transcribed with a view to publication in both Tibetan and English.

The first volume, entitled A Drop from the Ocean of History: The Lineage of Lelung Pema Zhepai Dorje, One of the Three Principal Incarnations of Tibet was published in Tibetan in 2002 by Archana, New Delhi. The foreword was written by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It is currently being translated into English by Lotsawa Tenzin Dorje. A second volume is due to be published very shortly.

The Lelung Lineage Preservation Centre was set up in 2003 in Dharamsala, North India. The office employs four Tibetan scholars and a geshe to ensure the scriptures are reproduced authentically. Lelung Rinpoche undertakes the final editing himself. Rinpoche regularly travels to India to oversee the work. His next trip will take place in June 2005. If you are interested in supporting this project, please see Collected Works or contact info@lelung.org.
